SELECT an ongoing project YOU wish to support:

* This happens only in India: Padharo Mare Desh Re! a feature length documentary on corruption in India. How it is hampered the daily lives of common people across all sections of society. The project was initiated in 1997. More than 550 hours of footage shot and the documentation continues. The approximate Budget is US $ 80,000/-.  The government’s biggest welfare programme could see an almost 60 per cent increase in funding. The forthcoming Budget is likely to make a provision of Rs 64,000 crore for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in 2011-12, against Rs 40,100 crore in the current fiscal.

* A Train to Monabhav: Indo-Pak relations. Indo-Pak/Afghanistan relations. Marriage across the borders. Cultural lives, similarities and differences. The approximate Budget is US $ 75,000/-.

* From Benaulim with Love: the story of colonialism, racism, caste and religion. The approximate Budget is US $ 120,000/-.

* Vaishali Sabha: Buddha’s notion of local self government. With the 73rd amendment India made a commitment to give more powers to the village republics but centralized control and decisions were made in the capital. From Thane District in Maharashtra to Jahanabad in Bihar the film looks at the failures and successes of a dysfunctional democracy. Shot over a decade this film talks about the elected representatives  and the matrix within which they work. The approximate Budget is US $ 140,000/-.

*Water of India One coca cola plant (in UP, India) fill up 600 bottles per minute, wherein each bottle consumes 5 to 7 liters… everyday 25 to 35 million liters of ground water is being used… and of course with all the possible legal documents n clearances. There are some 90 bottling units and the company is said to be more powerful than any nation in the world. The film we plan is meant to expose the design and understand the politics of privatization of water in the world. The approximate budget is US $ 135,000/- . The film isn’t meant to be a fact sheet, it is meant to emote … visually; artistically… not only the injustice but the violence committed by all of us who chose to ignore. In this film we hope to connect workers struggles; with land; water issues; the nuke deals; wars, universities research funded by companies like Coca cola… the politics of greed, lies…bribes… that most are unaware are at play when they view an advertisement on TV or purchase a bottle of bottled water.

The sooner we help people change their minds, sooner we can hope to shut down companies such as Coca Cola.

The approximate Budget is US$ 125,000/-.

*No Parking (The Homeless in the city of Delhi) The 1st census of the homeless was conducted in 2001. We started to document the lives of the street people since the winter of 2000. The attitude of the homed and those who have fought to live on the streets, with the Justice system and the politicians all in a rush to build the Metro, the Malls and more recently the 2010 Games. However, some initiatives have been undertaken since to provide shelter… do the homeless opt for these shelters… If not why? What is the lure of living on the streets… what are the needs for housing…? Why a country like Pakistan have less people living on the streets than in a city like Mumbai or Delhi… (These are some of the questions being asking through this film)The approximate Budget is US $ 130,000/-.
